Greetings!
Our journey to Chiang Mai was successful! We made it into the city about 10:50 a.m. Friday, April 26. Thank you all for your prayers and support as we begin this new year-long mission.
We are settling in to our new housing. We’ll stay in a small guest room across from our office for three weeks. We’ll spend a week outside the city at a YWAM conference from May 14-19. We then will move into regular housing just down the street from the office. We have that house until July, and then we’ll need to find new housing arrangements because the couple from whom we are subletting will return to Chiang Mai – with their new baby! Please keep them in your prayers for health and safe travels and us in your prayers for new housing to open up.
I will spend tomorrow (Monday) speaking with our director about what my specific duties will be this year at Create International–Thailand. I will send updates as I know more about what direction we are heading.
Right now, the base is bustling with activity! Our director said the past few weeks have been very quiet as two teams have been on outreach. All in one week, almost everyone came back! We are still waiting on one team to return in about a week. Several new staff members also have returned from furlough, so many new projects and regular duties will get underway shortly.
We are blessed to be a part of this family of servants. We love the heart of each and every person here and can’t wait to work alongside each of them. We thank you for making this possible.
The girls are ecstatic to be back “home.” We have spent the weekend unpacking, visiting friends, and seeing a few of our favorite places. This morning we went to church. It was nice seeing a few familiar, as well as many new, faces in the congregation.
The mosquitoes and ants and geckos are still here, but oddly, we are glad to see them!
I will write more soon but wanted to let everyone know we made it safely and give a big thank you to everyone who helped us get here. You are in our hearts daily.
