As a child of God, have you ever asked Him, “Who am I … that you have brought me this far?” David seems always conscious of the fact that he was chosen as a young shepherd boy to rule over all of Israel. And even in his “older” age, he begs the question: who am I that you chose me??? Nathan’s vision denotes the same type of humility, only his vision concerns God’s actions. God says, “I’ve lived in a tent this whole time and been perfectly fine and happy about it. I never asked for a grand house, so don’t bother giving me one. Instead, let your son do it. That way everyone will know that your family is blessed and that the Lord is with them always.” It’s beautiful to see this type of humbleness reflecting off God and shining from David. Basically, both of them are saying less is more. Can you relate?

I think we’ve had this writing prompt before, but that’s ok. Sometimes we need reminding about where we’ve come from and where we are now. Write about a time when you didn’t have much but you felt like you had a rich experience.
