Bildad has just reached a point where he’d like to say, “I don’t know what to tell you, man.” His response to Job’s eighth speech lacks much luster, and at this point in time, I think Job’s friends are just done talking to him about it. Job obviously isn’t listening to anything they say, and Bildad just keeps it short and simple in his latest response, which follows Job’s rhetorical questioning about why wealthy and powerful people get to enjoy their riches. Bildad, once again, offers little light on the subject and zero comfort to his buddy. I have certainly been in situations like this, and I can’t say I blame Bildad one bit.
