Bible studies for writers | Psalm 127

I love verse 2 of this psalm. It took me a minute to get it, and I had to read it several times before I did. But to me it says that rest is a blessing. Accept it! Now, that’s not to say that hard work isn’t essential, but it’s comforting to know that there’s a balance, and we are not only encouraged to embrace it, but we can even accept it as a gift! I’m in! Where’s the spa?

Sum it up:

Let God bless your house,
And it will surely become your home.
Pray blessings over your city
So that you won’t have to hire guards to protect it.
Work hard, but don’t overdo it.
God loves it when you’re rested, too.
See your children as gifts,
For that is what they are.
They will surround you with peace when you need it.

Writing prompt: rest

When was the last time you rested? I mean really rested. Write about that time, and if you’ve been working your tail end off, see if you can find some rest today. Many blessings to you.
