Getting through all the proverbs one line at a time isn’t easy, and reading them all together at the same time makes it hard for my brain to let each one sink in. Some of them are hard enough to understand on their own!
Like: “Better to be an ordinary person with a servant than to be self-important but have no food.”
Huh? Do ordinary people have servants?
And … “A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies has no sense.”
He may not have sense, but does he have food? 🤔
Then ol’ Solomon throws this in at the end:
“The way of the godly leads to life; that path does not lead to death.”
Yes. Yes? Wait. Yes. Wait. Hey! You said that twice!
